Ontario offers $5,000 in grants for home energy upgrades
Despite the federal government's decision to cancel the ecoENERGY Retrofit program (see below), Ontario homeowners are still eligible to receive grants though the Ontario Home Energy Savings Program.
On April 19, 2010, the Ontario government announced that it will continue offering its Home Energy Savings Program, which pays for 50% of the cost of an audit (up to $150) and provides grants of up to $5,000 for home energy-efficiency improvements. As this program is under review, you should book your home energy evaluation as soon as possible.
Pre-Retrofit assessment phase of EcoENERGY is now over.
Effective March 31, 2010, the Government of Canada announced that the ecoENERGY Retrofit – Homes program is no longer accepting new bookings for pre-retrofit evaluations. Applications will be processed for homeowners who have already scheduled or completed a pre-retrofit evaluation and who will be undertaking energy efficiency improvements on their homes and apply for a grant before March 31, 2011.Help us keep the ecoENERGY-Retrofit program alive!
